Descrizione prodotto

Terrunyo comes from the selection of a specific block of our best vineyards, in which we have identified a unique and complex character in each variety selected. The Pirque Viejo Vineyard is one of the Concha y Toro winery’s oldest vineyards. It is located to an altitude 650 m.a.s.l. and runs along the Maipo River, near the foothills of the Andes Mountains. The vertically positioned, cordon-pruned vines, piantato in 1978, come from pre-phylloxera vinestock.

Suolo

The soil is of alluvial origin, rocky, poor in nutrients, and highly permeable due to the gravel in the sub-soil.

Clima

The climate is a semi-arid Mediterranean one, out of the other five existing worldwide. The vineyard is strongly influenced by the Andes Mountains and the proximity to the Maipo River. -The high daily temperature oscillation helps develop the fruit concentration and intensifies the aromas.
