Descrizione prodotto
The more than 90 years old vines of the Purapel (from Mapudungun language: eight throats or grooves, oppure river of the clays) vineyards from where the grapes for this País varietal wine come from are in the oriental side of the Coastal Mountain Range in the area known as the Secano Interior (interior dry lands, in spite of being located at a distance of 50 km from the coastal border line of the Pacific Ocean), they are planted at an altitude of 117 m.a.s.l. over granitic soil in origin with advanced decomposition of the rock to great depth with a sandy-clay-loam texture with a presence of stones and very little organic matter (<3%).
ad un 13 tonnes tank for carbonic maceration to heighten the variety’s characteristic aromas. Upon completion of alcoholic fermentation, the wine was racked to old oak barrels with 3 or more prior uses, where it completed its malolactic fermentation spontaneously in 3.5 mesi. The wine was aged on its lees without racking for 12 months and then lightly filtered prior to bottling.
