It was a landmark in the promotion and information diffusion of the wines and vineyards of Chile worldwide. The book, launched first in Santiago and later in London, generated great acceptance, marking a before and an after in the Chilean wine industry.

Vineyards & Wineries of Chile Compendium has been edited three times (2002, 2004, 2006) generating great acceptance, and establishing at the same time the standard in the wine industry reports, mainly due to the scope and deepness of the information on the industry and about the wine companies published in a high quality printed product. The Compendium is linked to information technologies used to gather and processing information in a relational database including graphic design automation to generate the graphical representation and the originals for high quality printing. Still, the Vineyards & Wineries of Chile Compendium remains a product attributable to the contemporary textual culture and although it cannot be done without the contribution of the database still requires an even greater automation to become a multimedia product.
