The winemaking process in Chile can be traced back to the XVI century, when the country use to be part of the Kingdom of Chile, under the rule of the Spanish Crown. The Chilean Wine Industry becomes as such in the 80's, during the XX century. In fact, Chilean wines exports rise steadily since 1978 from USD 10 million FOB to USD 1,999.5 million FOB in 2018, with 850.7 million litres at the average price per litre doubled in this period, arriving to USD 2,35.
