Hugo Casanova
When the Italian immigrant Eliseo Casanova arrives to Chile, at the end of the XIX century, he came dreaming to find a place for winegrowing and making his own wine. Soon after Aldo follows the dream and the family tradition, bought Fundo Viña Purísima, in the Maule Valley, in 1939, planted vineyards and built a winery. Then Hugo Eliseo took the post improving the wines and introducing them into the international market, task to which Hugo Andrés join to create strong bonds with their customers.
By the end of the 19th Century, coming from the north of Italy, the first member of the Casanova Family arrived to Chile, with the purpose of continuing in our country with the noble tradition of producing wines of excellence. Eliseo Casanova acquired “Batuco” and “Beautiful valley” estates in the Itata Valley, where his dreams began. His son Aldo, attracted by the exceptional weather for vine growing of the Maule region, bought “Purísima estate”, which terroir allows for the production of unique and unmistakable wines. Years later, Don Aldo is followed by his son Hugo Eliseo, who takes over the company, introducing new vinification technologies and improving the vine production systems. He is the precursor of the successful development of the international markets. In year 1999 his son Hugo Andrés joins him, together with whom the “boutique winery” concept is conceived.

Casanova family inherited passion for wines goes beyond standards. Their work is reflected in the quality and elegance of the wine we produce and in the close relationship we have built with our clients. We look in each wine for the perfect balance of its structure, fruit and aging in barrel, offering a product portfolio for different consumers and detecting their preferences. Hugo Casanova wines are present in the different markets as a family and create long term relationships.
